This is a bedroom, a command centre and a light show at once. Hexagonal wall panels edged in neon, a curved triple-monitor desk, collectible shelves — and above it all, a sculpted storm cloud flickering with violet lightning.
The idea behind it
Pick two neon colours and wire everything to them — here it’s violet and cyan, traced along the floor, walls and desk. More colours would turn it into a carnival.
The cloud ceiling is foam and stuffing over LED strips: the most dramatic DIY in this collection, and the most fun.
What you will need
Storm-cloud LED ceiling, sculpted cloud canopy with lightning-flash strips inside
Neon edge tracing, LED channels along floor lines and hexagon wall panels
Triple-screen battlestation, curved desk, RGB PC and an ergonomic chair
Display shelving with figures, backlit niches for the collection
Steal the look
Step 1
Choose two neon hues and ban all others
Step 2
Build the cloud: batting over a frame, RGB strips inside
Step 3
Trace floor and panel edges in LED channel
Step 4
Set the desk against the window for the skyline backdrop
Step 5
Add one warm lamp for when the neon needs a night off
